Canada summer jobs

For 20 years, Crime Prevention Ahuntsic-Cartierville has been hiring young people every summer to raise the sentiment of security for the residents of the borough. As the Student Project has grown over the years, we now hire 20 young people for an eight-week summer period. Part of the group of young people are the Anti-Graffiti Brigade. Their mandate is to clean up and locate graffiti. They are also vectors of awareness against urban vandalism. The others form the Bike Patrol. This group must ensure the smooth running of activities by users of the parks and bike paths.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The students mandate is divided into three parts. First, is to remove graffiti present on street such as road signs, poles, benches, post boxes and play facilities. In addition, the students pursue a particularly important objective: the census of graffiti on the entire private and public domain of the borough. In this same pursuit, the mandate involves meeting with citizens and commercial building owners to obtain their consent to proceed with the removal of graffiti.

The Bike Patrol travels on the borough’s bike paths consisting of 70 parks in Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Patrol officers inspect public places for safety and inform citizens about municipal regulations to be observed in parks and on bike paths. They identify problems related to installation deficiencies and report anomalies to road services, public works and the parks division.

The floor is with the citizens.

The people from the health and safety brigade came like guardian angels. They were patient and helpful and accompanied me every step of the way to contact the city and the landlords. After several years of frustration in a substandard apartment, I was able to improve my situation.

Canada Summer Jobs Project: This is my third summer at PCAC. If I could sum up PCAC, it’s a cheerful, understanding team, guaranteed fun, a great work experience, great meetings and sunburn! It’s a job where you can fulfill yourself, make yourself useful to your company and learn something new about your city daily. Thank you PCAC, you have a place in my heart and on my resume forever!

There was always graffiti on my way to work. It certainly gave a bad impression. So when the ACCP erased them, I found a little rest.

Canada Summer Jobs Project: Working for PCAC as a bike patroller is an incredible experience for me! Especially since it’s my first job. I feel very much a part of the team, thanks to my teammates and the PCAC employees. Also, knowing that the comments we make contribute to the safety of citizens is really rewarding!
