Exploratory Walk

Safety audits are field diagnoses carried out by one of our safety advisors in a particular area of the district. These walks help to identify the land-use elements that are at the root of a feeling of insecurity, leading to proposals for improving the situation. It also reveals the positive aspects of the environment. To request an exploratory walk, simply contact us. We’ll assess your situation and meet your needs.

THE ADVANTAGES OF EXPLORATORY WALK

Raising awareness of the urban environment

Exploratory walks enable participants to discover and explore their urban environment in greater detail. This fosters a better understanding of the characteristics of the urban space, existing problems and development opportunities.

Identifying problems and concerns

Exploratory walks give participants the opportunity to identify problems, risk areas or specific concerns in their urban environment. This provides valuable information for identifying community challenges and needs.

Community involvement

Safety Walks promote community participation by encouraging residents, shopkeepers and other local stakeholders to get actively involved in thinking about and improving their neighborhoods. This strengthens participants' sense of belonging and commitment to their community.

Interdisciplinary collaboration

Safety audits often bring together people from different disciplines. This fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, where experts and stakeholders work together to identify problems and find integrated solutions.

Field data collection

Exploratory walks provide a direct, contextual way of collecting data in the field. Participants can observe real conditions in the urban environment, taking notes, photos or videos to document problems or positive points. This data provides a solid basis for future analysis and action.

Commitment to change

Exploratory walks are often the starting point for generating positive change in the urban environment. Participants are encouraged to think about possible solutions, make recommendations and get involved in urban development initiatives. This fosters the empowerment of participants and their active role in improving their neighborhoods.

THE FLOOR IS WITH THE CITIZENS.

The people from the health and safety brigade came like guardian angels. They were patient and helpful and accompanied me every step of the way to contact the city and the landlords. After several years of frustration in a substandard apartment, I was able to improve my situation.

There was always graffiti on my way to work. It certainly gave a bad impression. So when the ACCP erased them, I found a little rest.
